McKean America Project (“MAP”) Mission Statement

The MAP mission is that incarcerated Americans leave incarceration (and post-incarceration supervision) with earning capacity greater than that with which they entered incarceration. To this end MAP serves as a resource:

1. For prisons, providing instructors to supplement prison instructional staff

2. For prisons, providing instructional materials to supplement those in use by prisons

3. For prisons, providing consultation to prison instructional staffs to the end of keeping them abreast of developments in their fields of instruction

4. For inmates, providing personal instructional materials which reinforce instruction of all kinds delivered by prison instructional staff

5. For former inmates, immediately upon release, providing MAP Mentoring which includes job-training in preparation for MAP designed stepping-stone employment

6. For former inmates, immediately upon release, providing MAP Mentoring which includes stepping-stone employment in preparation for MAP designed (and MAP facilitated) full-time employment positions

7. For former inmates, immediately upon release, providing MAP Mentoring which includes MAP designed (and MAP facilitated) full-time employment positions

8. For former inmates, clients of MAP Mentoring, ongoing mentoring designed to facilitate their career development as employees of MAP or other organizations

9. For former inmates, clients of MAP Mentoring, ongoing mentoring designed to facilitate their development as business owners/job creators.
